Origin of Our Name
“Karkinos” is the name of a giant crab in Greek mythology who fought bravely and became the symbol of the “Protector”. As if by destiny, this area of Khao Lak is surrounded by a number of crabs that play the Protector role, by not only cleaning the beach, but looking after the natural ecosystem as well.
“Karkinos” as Destiny.
As if by destiny, there’s a number of crabs here that literally play the protectors role by cleaning the beach, looking after the whole natural ecosystem. So in our notion of a perfect name to represent this very peaceful place, undoubtedly, it has to be “Karkinos”

From all of its interpretations around theworld, ‘Crab’ symbolism represents many good things.
But there’s the only one that both the East and the West have in common; “The protector”.
